What is the cost for a public cruise?

The cost is $14 for adults, $6 for children age 12 and under and free for children under age 2.

How long is a public cruise?

Our public cruises are narrated and approximately 90 minutes long. You can find our public cruise calendar on our website: www.cruiseclearlake.com. Click on Cruise Schedule and you can view the calendar for the updated public cruise schedule.

Where is the Lady of the Lake located?

The Lady of the Lake docks downtown at the City Seawall in Clear Lake, Iowa

From I-35 take Exit 194. Go West on Hwy 18 to North 8th Street. Turn left
onto North 8th Street go to Main Avenue. Turn right onto Main Avenue and follow to Lakeview Drive and the City Seawall and turn right.We are hidden from view by the band shell in the park but once you are past that you will see the Lady of the Lake to your left.

Is parking convenient?

There is free municipal parking at the City Seawall.


Is the Lady of the Lake handicap accessibile?

The lower level is accessible by wheelchair.

Will the Lady be going out today?

We have no control over Mother Nature. If the weather looks questionable, call us at 641-357-2243 and listen to the first message for a weather update before making a trip to dockside. If there are hazardous wind and/or stormy weather conditions, the public cruise will be canceled and a notice will be posted at dockside.

Do you accept credit or debit cards?

No, we do not accept credit or debit cards. There is an ATM within a short walking distance.

What is the minimum number of passengers for a public cruise?

We need 10 passengers to cover the cost of fuel and staff.


Do we need reservations on a public cruise?

No - you do not need a reservation for a group of less than 10 people. For a group 10 or more people, we ask you to make a reservation. Please contact us for more details either by email – info@cruiseclearlake.com or by phone 641-357-2243.

How much does it cost for a private charter?

Is a deposit required to book a private charter?

Yes. A partially refundable deposit of half of the charter cost is required upon signing of a charter contract. Half of the deposit will be refunded upon receipt of a written notice of cancellation 30 days prior to the event.


What if the weather is too hazardous to cruise?

We have no control over Mother Nature. If the wind or weather conditions are too hazardous to cruise, your event will be held dockside for the cost of the deposit.

What is the capacity ?

Capacity is 150 people which requires the use of the open-air upper level.

Are decorations allowed?

Yes. Keep in mind that time may be limited – so keep things simple and quick to set up and take down. There are 14 tables on the lower level that are 24” x 42” and five octagon shapped picnic tables on the upper deck.


Is there a stage and sound system?

There is a stage on the lower level that can accommodate a small band or DJ as well as a small dance floor. We also have a sound system that may be used to play CD’s – either cd’s that you provide or from our collection. There is also a wireless microphone available for your use.

Do you allow us to bring our own beer, wine or liquor on board?

Our liquor license does not allow you to bring alcohol on board. There is a bar on the lower level and we sell soft drinks, beer, wine and mixed drinks. You have the option of having a cash bar, purchase a keg for $250, have a totally open bar, or if you want more control over the bar costs, give each of your guests a couple of drink tickets. If you want something special such as champagne for a toast, we will be happy to try to accommodate your request. Keep in mind that we do have limited cooler space. The only beverages that we allow to be brought on board are punch for weddings and coffee for your catered meal.

Do you allow us to bring our own food on board?

We do allow a simple snack tray of meat, cheese & crackers. Our food service license only allows food prepared by a licensed caterer.


Can we use a caterer of our own choice?

Yes - Arrangements to have food catered will need to be made with a caterer of your choice. We also have a list of area caterers who have expressed an interest in catering on the Lady of the Lake that we will provide upon request. There is an extra clean up charge of $30 when food is brought on board. It is your responsibility to remove any leftover food.

If our group is not large enough for a private charter, can we reserve space and also have food catered on a public cruise?

Yes. You can bring a large group on a public cruise and still arrange for food to be brought on board. We just indicate to the others that the food is for a private party.
