The Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce says it best...
As it did in the 1850's, Clear Lake continues to attract people because of its unique setting. Visitors of all ages are drawn to the sparkling lake, the sun, the fun and the warm hospitality.
There are endless activities for your leisure time. The lake, parks, golf courses and recreational trails for biking and walking all provide fun for the entire family.
Clear Lake also offers quaint shops and antique stores in a revitalized downtown business district.
Clear Lake is not only an excellent vacation destination year-round, but is also ideal for conventions, corporate retreats and business travelers. Facilities, activities, congeniality and, of course, the lake, combine to lure visitors back to Clear Lake again and again. Enjoy your stay! For more information on the Clear Lake area, take a look at the Chamber of Commerce web site.
Another popular attraction in Clear Lake in the historic Surf Ballroom. The Surf is the last place where Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, and Richie Valens performed before their plane crash on that wintry night in 1959. The Surf has a regular concert schedule featuring many popular musical groups from rock, country, big band, dance, and blues. Each winter, around the February anniversary of the fated trio's last concert, the Surf holds a 50's weekend filled with poodle skirts and sock hops. For more information, visit the Surf Ballroom web site.
